Labyrinth Outreach Services to Women

Since it's our final post, I found something happier than I've been posting about! Labyrinth Outreach Services to Women is a project targeting the main reasons women repeatedly go to jail. They set up housing and support groups for substance abuse or childhood violence. Their main goal to to rehabilitate these women and keep them out of prison. The majority of women they help were incarcerated for nonviolent crimes, as most are, so it's important to rehabilitate them before they offend multiple times.
Here is the article that talks about their wereabouts and beginings!

  1. I think this is awesome! If there were more services like this available to women all over the United States, there would be a much lower number of incarcerated women. Its such a good idea to help women out before they make big mistakes that send them to jail rather than just ignoring the problems and throwing them into prisons when they mess up. A little bit of help and positivity can make all the difference. Thanks for sharing!

  2. This is definitely a good idea, considering the whole deal with the justice system is to help people be better, not just sending them off to suffer. That's really important to consider for women who have committed nonviolent crimes because they don't deserve to waste their life over something so minor. It's especially nice that the women can stay in the house for up to two years, giving them enough time to actually make as many efforts as possible to better their life.
